Daddy's Girl

Lark is SUCH a Daddy's girl! She adores being in his arms, and half the time refuses to go down for the night unless he is lying on the other side of her. She will roll over 'just to check' and make sure he';s still there! They cuddle constantly and she is always crawling around the house, following him whereever he goes. It's the cutest thing!

Today she spent nearly the entire day with Randy because I needed to finish my homework (again!). They went to Target and the park and hung around the house playing while I went out with Carrie and Julie for Pizookies (mmm!). I'm really lucky she loves him so much....

The Second Weekend in a Row (Also Known As the Thanksgiving Day Weekend)

Today Larklet woke up bright and early at 5:30, cooing like the adorable baby she is. Daddy and Momma persuaded her to go back to sleep until a reasonable hour, like 7am. Lark took a two hour morning nap because she knew Momma needed to finish up her last dribbles of classwork this weekend. Daddy and Lark then went to Target and the park while Momma stayed inside and researched furiously. Lark zonked out for another nap around 1:30 and didn't wake up until 3pm. Her naps have been erratic since she started crawling. She stood for the first time today! Balanced up on the coffeetable and had a joyous time whacking it with Daddy. Later today when she wakes up from her nap, she and Sonia will be donning their Christmas dresses and getting professional pictures taken together, curtosy of a coupon from Kat.

Turkey (and Ham) Day

Yesterday was Lark's first Thanksgiving. We went to my mom's house around 10am (totally forgetting the games, videos, and of course Lark's new dress -Thanks Cousin Kim!) Momma dropped of Randy and Lark and drove back to get the forgotten items. Randy and Lark were playing on the swingset when Momma returned. We all helped get the food together and make the last minute items. Attending were: Grammy, Paul, Auntie Kelsey, Aunt Melissa, Uncle Tim, Daddy, Momma, Lark, Adopted Aunt Kat and Best Friend Sonia, Cousins Lisa and Will, StepGreatGrandparents Opa and Farmor, StepAunt Gabi, and Auntie Kelsey's friend Kevin. Lark played on the floor with Sonia while the adults ate in shifts, played SET and SmartMouth, and watched Who's Line. The babies were both worn out by all the attention and took power naps, but kept waking up to make sure they weren't missing any of the excitement. We left around 3pm and Lark napped for an hour once we got home.
Today Jonathan and his brother are coming over to play some games. Maybe later tonight Aunt Carrie and Aunt Julie will be able to sneak out with Momma.

Pre-Thanksgiving

Today was really busy. Lark woke when Daddy finished his shower and played around for an hour, then fell asleep at 8:00. This morning Grammy came over and brought Jordan for tutoring. After Jordan left, Lark woke up and wanted to play! We played in the playroom for an hour, then went to feed Jess's cats and water her plants. Lark was fascinated by the kitty, and kept trying to grab it. We stopped by the store afterwards for some Thanksgiving food, and then came back home. Kat and Sonia came over to play, and Grammy returned. All the adults cooked while the girls played with each other. Lark can almost keep up with Sonia now in crawling, and holds her own in toy-grabbing. The babies liked shaking the bell and maracas best today. Noise seems to amuse them most lately. We ran out of clothies today, so I upped the order for next week and stuck her in a 'sposie. Randy got home early, at 5:00! Lark woke up early from her nap (I swear she has a radar for when Daddy's here). He's been playing with her in the blow-up tub since he got back. She isn't so into me when he's home. She is SUCH a Daddy's Girl.

Who is Lark?

Lark is the firstborn baby girl of Randy and Niki. She was born on April 10th, 2008. Lark has red hair (was auburn, now is strawberry). She was born with blue eyes, but they faded to brown. I'm writing a blog about her to let the people who don't get to see her daily keep up with what's new in her life.
