Bows!

I finally broke down and bought Lark some pretty hairbows from Christianne.

Lark now can be complimented as a gorgeous little girl instead of a handsome little boy :)

Today was nice. Went out to WalMart (again) and bought the last few Christmas presents, then over to my mom's house to meet up with Vanessa and Abbey, and Erma and Julian (since it was sweeper day at my house). We played around in the kitchen with Grammy's old-school Little People (from when I was a kid) and chatted and ate lunch. The Kelsey came down and Lark and I went out to swing while Kelsey walked Chaucer around. mom and I then went to my house and Lark finally went down for a nap. I made Randy some Sloppy Joes for dinner, but felt a bit 'off' so I just had a scrambled egg with toast. I hate feeling like this....especially since I was hoping once I started having kids, I'd avoid it for at LEAST a few years, since MY mom got to!

This is TOO Cute!

I got Lark some pretty bows that fit her chubby little head. She is adorable! I know I'm biased....

2008 Babies Christmas Party!

Today was rather strange. Lark's been teething pretty hard for the past few days, this morning I woke up late (like 7am) and Randy had already left. My mother wa son my computer when I walked out of the bedroom (leaving Lark blissfully snoozing) and she and I talked for a bit. Lark woke up screaming about 15 minutes later and I went in and nursed her, and she FELL BACK ASLEEP! She remained asleep UNTIL 9:30AM! Crazy, but she does normally wake to say goodbye to Daddy, then nap for anywhere from a half hour to and hour and a half. To assuage my insanity, I'm calling that her morning nap. We then bundled up and went in the car to Grammy's to dry bumper/covers, then to the 99cent store looking for treats for the Abused Women and Children's Shelter, then to Wal-Mart for baby wipes and Robeez(didn't find them...sad:( ) then frantically to home trying to beat the Dydee man (didn't make it in time so we have double diapers for him next week) then to drop of Grammy and get a cake, then off to the party! Lark had such fun crawling all around, knocking everything under the sun off the tabletops, and squealing at other babies. She got a cute present(Elmo/CookieMonster noisy toy), and a present better for a less-mobile baby(Push-to-turn Carousel). I'm totally jealous of Baylee's present. Cubes and balls filled with rattling & shiny objects, for the baby to gnaw on/throw around/crawl after. Lark LOVES playing with those things at everyone else's houses who have them already! Momma got some nice gifts too. A pretty playmat to spread out at the playground that folds into it's own bag, and a wipes case with Pirates on it. We ate some pasta, and salad and had some bon-bons and cookies (my cake was barely touched) then all the babies were so fussy we started going home. Daddy came home and saw what a horrible mood Momma was in (don't ask) and decided to take everyone out to Chili's for ribs (mmmm, good husband) since Lonestar was too far for baby to handle at night. He played with Lark when we got home for a long time. She is such a Daddy's girl. I love it. I'm feeling much better about life in general now that I've been able to recoup some....

Rainy Day and Many A's

Pouring waterwalls today scared Lark with the thunder. Randy had to take my car to work today because his wouldn't start. Jessica and Kat (and Garret and Sonia) were going to come over and bake cookies with us, but Jess's house was leaking and Kat's errands took longer then planned. So sad. Poor Larklet was stuck in all day (which she HATES!) and didn't even get any friends visiting. We were supposed to go to a Babywearing Demo (to be the models) and then out to Target and Old Navy and JoAnne's Fabrics for varied errands, but not car + rain = stuck at home. Lark was teething pretty bad today also, so I'm just about dead :-/

I think I'll see who on cafemom would like to come to a babywearing demo at my house....

Rancho Los Alamitos, and Step-Christmas

Today we all bundled up (leaving Lark in her purple jammies) and went over to Grammy and Opa Paul's house (stopping to get Randy a haircut) for lunch with my step-sister and her hubby and sons who came down from NorCal. Laura (step-sister) is in training to be a nurse, and hubby Bruce is a snowplow driver, and they have two cute (but hyper and mildly destructive) boys: Logan 15 months, and Dominic 5 years. Lark didn't know what to make of them racing around the house pell-mell. The daddies took the kids out to the park while the mamas and aunties helped Grammy set up the lunch. After lunch, Grammy and Opa Paul brought down a bunch of wrapped gifts and we did a GiftSteal game together. Later, Grammy, Auntie Kelsey, Mama, and Lark went out to Rancho Los Alamitos to see the farms, barns, gardens, and adobe house of the Bixby Family in Long Beach, all decorated and beautiful. Lark was pretty tired after such a big day, so we came home after that, and she took a nap while Momma and Daddy arranged for Carrie and Lawrence to come over and have dinner and watch Arrested Development.

This weekend was a big weekend for Lark also. She was such a good girl! Momma and Daddy had friends over on Friday night and Saturday all day long. On Friday Thomas, Jessica/Graham/Garret, and Vanessa/James/Abbey came over and had Greek food and played Lifeboats and Wise or Otherwise. We LOVE our geeky family friends! We also adore our geekboy friends. Saturday we had Jonathan over at 10-2, Matt (new trial-friend) over from 12-10, and Carrie over from 2-7. We played 7th Sea with Jonathan, then Carcassonne with Jon and Matt, then made cookies with Carrie and Matt, then played LOTR with Carrie and Matt, then introduced AD to Matt (since we were burnt out on games, but didn't feel like calling it a night just yet.

Such fun times!

Cookies cookies everywhere

Today was the cookie exchange party for the 2008 moms group I'm a member of. We had to bake a dozen for each person attending, which equaled out to 9 dozen cookies! I nearly lost my mind, except Jess came over yesterday and baked with me. I made Rosenmunnar, and chocolate chip, Grammy made Chocolate Oatmeal Lace, and Jess created Potato Chip Cookies. Lark and Garret played together happily for most of the day. Today I got a laptop and went to the party. It was glorious chaos with 9 mobile (or almost mobile) babies crammed into Alta's living room. Lots of nice mama-talk. Tomorrow we go to CSULB and visit the koi pond :)

Working Saturday

Today was another homework day for Momma. Daddy took Lark out to Target and GameStop to browse, came home for a nap, then out to the park to swing (and get her christmas onesie sleeve all rust-covered) while Momma worked and worked. Momma snapped a few pics of her because she looked so cute wearing her little Christmas onesie. After she had another nap, Momma'd finished most of the rest of her work and was ready to take her out to Delilah's first birthday party. Lark loved seeing the little doggies and crawling around trying to catch all the bigger kids (she was the youngest there, aside from Delilah). After about two hours of fun, Lark was beat and fell asleep on the way home in the car. She napped for an hour at home with Momma and then played with Daddy and Grammy in the evening before going to bed.

Happy times.

Busy busy busy

Today Lark and I left the house at 9am for VU. Momma had a final for her computer class, then we visited Auntie Kelsey, then we went to lunch, then went to South Coast Plaza with 2008 mommies, then we helped out Auntie Kat and Sonia-friend clean out her office and then finally came home at 4:15....

Long day, and tonight the boys are coming over for gaming, as well as Auntie Jess and Garret-friend, and Graham (they're coming early for dinner then gaming also!).

Signing Baby

I absolutely adore that Lark can comminicate with us. Her latest addition to her vocabulary is "up". She can sign "milk", "more", "wet" and can understand "come here" already! I'm so proud of her, and so impressed that she can already communicate with us. Grammy is the best at helping Lark sign, because she punctuates everything she does with signs. It really makes life easier, when you can find out what your 6 month old wants instead of just trying everything under the sun when they cry.....

Little Day

Today was a little day for Lark. Had an average morning, normal wake-up, played around, said goodbye to Daddy, playtime with Momma, went out to Trader Joe's, came home and played some more, had our friends Vanessa and Abbey over to visit, hung out with Grammy, went to tutoring trial appointment with Momma, came home and played with Daddy, went to sleep.

It's nice to be little :)

Grammy at the Park and Grandpa Visiting

Today Lark woke up early, before Daddy went to work, around 6am. She was up and playing perkily and let Momma fix Daddy's lunch. She passed out around 7:30 and slept 'til 9 (she woke in the car because sneaky Momma decided it was time for a playdate). Lark played with the toddlers at Marine View Park for an hour, then came home and napped 'til Grandpa came over. She wasn't too sure about this white-haired guy, but warmed up to him when he offered her his (drool-proof) electronic watch. After Grandpa left, Lark and Grammy both passed out for a nap while Momma tried to finish up her last driblets of classwork. Lark started getting teething pains in the evening again, but they were quickly conquored by sucking on a frozen toothbrush. When Daddy came home, she squealed with glee and crawled out to meet him, abandoning her self-appointed chore of sorting clothes.

Christmas comes earlier every year

Lark went with Sonia today to get Christmas pictures at Target because Kat had a lovely coupon for very cheap pictures. We dressed the girls in their pretty Christmas dresses (Lark received hers from Cousin Kim). We first went on Saturday, but they had a 2 hour wait, so we rescheduled for Monday (today) at 11:00 am. On Saturday we borrowed a sidebar display of poinsettas and posed the girls on three green shirts next to the flowers, because they were already dressed up. The pictures will be back on the tenth (I got 8 wallets of Lark alone, and we got 2 5x7s of the girls together).

I love Christmastime!
